 Lattice Apple Pie

 Ingredients

4 large tart apples
Plain Pastry (Pie Shell, I use a 2 crust)
 ½ cup sugar
 1 tsp. cinnamon
 ½ cup sugar
 ¾ cup flour
 1/3 cup butter or margarine
 Instructions

Pare apples, cut in eighths and arrange in 9” pastry lined pie pan.
Sprinkle with ½ cup sugar mixed with cinnamon.
Sift remaining ½ cup sugar with flour; cut in butter until crumbly.
 Sprinkle over apples.
Roll out remaining dough pretty thin.
Using a butter knife, cut dough in ¼ inch strips
long enough to cover the pie and drape over the edge of the pie.
Weave the dough in the lattice form and crimp edges of
the dough either with your fingers or a fork.

Bake in hot 450° oven for 10 minutes
then reduce heat to 350° cook until apples are tender.
